Stateside Director
Stan Wiebe first visited Haiti in 1982 when he signed up with other Canadians on a mission trip. This is where he sensed the Lord’s call to serve with the Haitian people, primarily in the role of accounting.
Moving to Haiti in January of 1984, Stan ended up serving in Haiti for five years with two different missions, living in Port-au-Prince, Montrious and Gonaives.
In 1989, Stan moved to Raleigh, NC and began serving with an urban outreach, Building Together Ministries (BTM). Stan, however, returned to Haiti most years to visit his Haitian friends. They would share about their passion for reaching their own people with the Gospel of Christ and meeting some of their physical needs. As a result, the Lord gave BTM an opportunity to partner with these Haitian leaders.
As the Building Together Ministries’ supported programs in Haiti continued to grow, the time came for a "spin off" and a new entity, Hearts and Hands for Haiti (HHH) officially began on January 1st of 2006.
Stan and his wife, Patty, work together in the HHH office in Raleigh, NC serving as a liason between their Haitian and North Americans neighbors. The Wiebes welcome the chance to share about the great work God is doing in the Gonaives area of Haiti.
Stan first met Patty in 1995 while she was in Haiti on a missions trip. They have been married since March of 1998 and are now blessed with 3 children, Jonathan (ti-Jean) Feb/02, Andrew (ti-Andre) April/04 and Elizabeth (ti-Ellie) June/06.
Speaking for all of them, Stan states, "We as a family are truly blessed to be able to serve with our Haitian friends and are grateful for God’s calling on our lives. I can't wait for the day when we can all go to Haiti together!"
