LORD WE ASK FOR YOUR MERCY ON HAITI

 Lord Jesus, we lift up the nation of Haiti to you, knowing that you are the Prince of Peace and the source of all comfort. We come before you with hearts burdened for the people of Haiti. Jesus, we ask for your presence to be tangibly felt among those who are suffering. Be near to the brokenhearted. Surround them with your love and fill them with hope, knowing that you are with them in their darkest moments. We also lift up the churches and organizations working tirelessly to bring aid and support to your children in Haiti. Bless their efforts and multiply their resources so that they may continue to be a beacon of hope in the midst of despair. Lord, we believe in your power to bring about transformation and restoration. 

HAITI IS IN CRISIS

• Gang violence has increased dramatically
• Hunger is increasing as food prices continue to skyrocket
• Gangs overpowered the 2 largest prisons and over 4,000 prisoners escaped
• Businesses, police stations, etc. are being vandalized
• Gang controlled roads resulting in a transportation paralysis of food, gas, medicine, and other essential goods
• Immense suffering of people under these conditions
• Most anyone who can leave the country has left

Just over 40 years ago I moved to Haiti and have never observed so much insecurity.  In the past, we could typically avoid 'hot spots' and be safe.  Thankfully our ministry areas are rural, mostly safe and operating.  

Now, more than ever, we need to stand in support of our Haitian brothers and sisters.

We are very grateful that:

• 2,468 students are receiving an education and a hot nutritious meal which gives them hope for a future and some stability
• Over 260 employees are  receiving a monthly income
• Children's home nurturing 70 youth
• Spiritual guidance and encouragement in our growing churches

We greatly appreciate your partnership and ask you to intercede for our Haitian family.

• Protection for safety and from despair
• People seek and find trust in God - the only true source of hope
• Effective international intervention
• Establishment of a transitional council to lead towards an eventual election
• Wisdom and funds for HHH as we continue to encourage and assist our Haitian friends
